A Fateful Day: August 15, 1975

The day etched itself in the collective memory of Bangladesh as a day of horror and despair. A group of rogue army officers, led by Major Farooq Rahman, stormed the Presidential Palace in Dhaka, brutally assassinating Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, the founding father of Bangladesh, and his family.

For the next several months, Sheikh Hasina endured unimaginable torment. Confined to a heavily guarded house, she was subjected to physical abuse, torture, and threats to her family's lives.

Operation Jackpot: A Daring Rescue Plan

Meanwhile, a group of loyalists within the Bangladesh Special Forces, led by Major Khaled Mosharraf, devised a daring rescue plan codenamed "Operation Jackpot."

On November 3, 1975, a team of Special Forces soldiers, armed with the latest weapons, stealthily infiltrated Dhaka and split into two groups. One group secured the perimeter of Sheikh Hasina's house, while the other stormed inside, neutralizing the guards and rescuing the captives.
